Permanent Resident

These follow the Spousal Open Work Permit model. Each page carries the site-wide ProfessionalService and Person schema and a FAQPage schema built from its own FAQ, so the build notes stay short. The Express Entry category list, PNP allocations, and the Parents and Grandparents intake status all change through the year, so reconfirm anything marked current against canada.ca at build time.

Express Entry

What CRS score do I need?

There is no fixed number. It moves with each round, and category-based draws can invite candidates below the general cut-off.

Does a job offer help my score?

It can, but the points for an arranged offer have changed, so category eligibility often matters more now.

Can experience outside Canada count?

Yes, for the Federal Skilled Worker Program. The Canadian Experience Class needs authorized Canadian work experience.

How long does it take after an invitation?

PR processing has a service standard but varies. We give you the current estimate at the time you apply.

Do I need a consultant?

No, but the occupation choice and category strategy are where profiles are won or lost.

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

Do I need a job offer?

Some streams require one, others do not. It depends on the province and the stream.

Does a nomination guarantee permanent residence?

No. It is a major step, but IRCC makes the final decision.

Can I move elsewhere after I am nominated?

You apply intending to live in the nominating province. Relocating right away can raise questions.

Which province is easiest?

There is no single answer. It depends on your occupation, your ties, and each province's current allocation and priorities.

How does it work with Express Entry?

An enhanced provincial nomination adds 600 CRS points, which effectively secures an invitation to apply.

Spousal & Common-Law Partner Sponsorship

Inland or outland, which is better?

It depends on where you live, your need to travel, and whether you want an open work permit. We weigh both for your case.

How long must common-law partners live together?

At least 12 consecutive months in a conjugal relationship.

Can my partner work while we wait?

Through a separate open work permit, if eligible, which is most common in inland cases.

What evidence do we need?

Proof the relationship is genuine and ongoing, such as shared residence, joint finances, communication, and time spent together.

Can I sponsor if I receive social assistance?

Generally not, except for disability. Sponsor eligibility has specific conditions we check first.

Parents & Grandparents Sponsorship

Can I apply now?

No. As of October 2026, new intake is paused.

What can my parents do in the meantime?

A super visa allows long visits of up to five years at a time, with multiple entries over a validity of up to ten years.

What income do I need?

When the program is open, the Minimum Necessary Income, which is the Low Income Cut-Off plus 30 percent, for the last three tax years.

How are applicants chosen?

Through a lottery from the interest-to-sponsor pool when intake is open.

Will it reopen?

IRCC has not announced a reopening date. We monitor it and will tell you when it changes.
