COMPLEX IMMIGRATION CASES
Procedural Fairness Letter
Personal advice. A strategy built around your circumstances.
What it is
A procedural fairness letter means an officer has a concern about your application and is giving you a chance to respond before deciding. It isn't a refusal, but it is often your last real chance to prevent one.
When it applies
Any pending IRCC application can receive one. Common concerns include:
- Doubts about work experience, job duties or employment letters
- Documents that appear inconsistent or unreliable
- Information left out of your application
- Medical or criminal issues
The deadline in the letter is strict, and a misrepresentation finding brings a five-year ban from Canada.
