Visitor Record
Personal advice. A strategy built around your circumstances.
What it is
A visitor record extends your stay when you're already in Canada and want to remain beyond the date set at the border. It is a status document, not a visa, so it doesn't let you leave and re-enter.
Who is eligible
- You are in Canada with valid visitor status
- You apply before your status expires, ideally at least 30 days ahead
- You can explain why you need more time and show you can support yourself
- You still intend to leave at the end of your stay
If you apply on time, you can stay under the same conditions while IRCC decides. If your status has already expired, you may be able to restore it within 90 days.
Need to stay longer? Book a 30-minute consultation before your status expires.
