Provincial Nominee Program allows a Canadian province or territory to nominate an individual with the appropriate education, skills and/or work experience to be Permanent Residence of Canada based on the criteria set by the provincial government. Successful applicants will receive a certificate of nomination from the province, then the applicant makes a separate application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to apply for permanent residence. As well as meeting provincial criteria, the individual would have to meet federal immigration requirements to be eligible for the program.
